Terrarium Ornaments

If you have been around for a while, you know that I turn everything into a planter. I am a self professed plant lady who just can’t help herself.  So when I was going through my Christmas decor and found some leftover clear bulbs, I of course thought I should make them into little terrariums! Here is how I made my terrarium ornaments.

How to Make Terrarium Ornaments

Step 1

Fill the bulbs with gravel. I had some pea gravel left over from an outdoor project but I think gravel for fish tanks would work better since they are smooth and pretty. Plus they come in smaller bags.

Step 2

Squirt some clear craft glue onto the gravel. Just enough to cover the top since it will seep down to the bottom.  Be careful not to add too much or it will take longer to dry.

Step 3

Put some potting soil onto a paper plate and add some clear glue. Stir it well so that the soil is damp.

Step 4

Using the funnel, add the damp potting soil to the bulbs. My funnel was really small and I had to cut the tip of it off with a box cutter. Then I used a pencil to push the dirt through.

Step 5

Cut small pieces off of some faux plants. Using tweezers, add the little plants to the bulbs. Press them into the dirt.

Allow them to dry (or at least mostly dry) before adding the tops and hanging them on your tree.

They took longer to dry than I would have thought but so worth the wait. I love how they look on my tree! I also tucked the extra faux greenery into the tree.
